The same staff-to-camper ratios will be maintained on horseback riding trips as any other field trip. The same first-aid requirements are also maintained.
Each staff member receives a roster of all the campers participating in the trip, and they are checked off as they enter the vehicle.
Each staff member must bring a cell phone and exchange numbers with the other staffers on the trip, as well as have the main camp line and health center numbers available.
A first-aid kit including an epi-pen must travel in the car with the group. Directions to the nearest hospital are printed and kept in the glove compartment. In case of an emergency requiring a camper to go to the hospital, one or two staff members will drive the camper while the others remain with the group and call the camp health center.
