How likely is being homesick?

Most children who go away from home for the first time experience a certain amount of homesickness. It is very natural and it is very real. Your camper is likely to experience it, even if they are characteristically independent and outgoing.

We understand that the Covid-induced isolation and social challenges of the past years can make adjusting to camp more challenging. Please do not hesitate to be in touch to discuss your child's individual needs.

However, please do not tell your child “I know you’ll be homesick,” which can create a self-fulfilling prophecy.
